Testimonies
Real stories. Real transformation.
Don't take our word for it. Hear from the men whose lives have been changed and the volunteers who've witnessed it firsthand.

I once thought that the day I was sent to prison was the scariest day of my life. I was wrong. The scariest day, was the day I departed prison. Few will give you a job. Fewer, still, will rent an apartment to you. I am very grateful for the ministry of New Beginnings, run by David Jenkins, which gave me a safe place to restart my life. A safe place to lay my head at night. A safe place to worship Christ. A safe brotherhood of "convicts". Men who joyfully participate in the maintenance of their living space. Brothers who also enjoy in helping others by volunteering at a food pantry. Brothers who help each other by supporting their brother when personal setbacks and losses occur. Brothers who enjoy breaking bread together. Sure, sometimes we quarrel. But so did the Disciples. Learning how to have disagreements in a mature Christ-like manner, the way Christ would want, is an important part of transition. I highly recommend New Beginnings to all who are serious about reclaiming their life. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the ministry. Bill Strubbe 904-300-7980

“Wow. Honestly, this shocked me at first I cried twice so far. Not just because of the difference that NBF has made in my life, and what a huge difference that was. But because of the eternal truth that I was taught in your classes, through the spirit, from the word.”
“There is no doubt in my mind, after living and loving at NBF, that God knows me and loves me. NBF is alive with the spirit of God, and not only can you feel it, but you get to see it and experience it in real life.”
“When I had no one, nothing, and nowhere else to turn, God had his hand in this from the start. And he used you to save me. So thank you for listening when God calls you. I have a chance to live for eternity, thanks to you.”

Peter Babajko
Graduate - Program Leader
After leaving prison, Peter came to New Beginnings Florida as a resident participant and never expected to step into leadership. Over time, Dave began asking him to help in more ways, and it became clear he had a steady, servant-hearted approach grounded in listening to God.
Even while incarcerated, he facilitated programs with a variety of groups and discovered a deep passion for teaching and encouraging others. Today, he's committed to walking alongside the men in the program and sharing the love of God in a way that's real, consistent, and life-changing.
New life. New beginnings.
Many of our men choose to be baptized during their time in the program a powerful declaration of their new life in Christ.
